The Luminous Gospels:
Thomas, Mary Magdalene & Philip

with Matthew Wright
Hallelujah Farm — Chesterfield, NH

The timelessness and immediacy of the Wisdom teachings of Jesus invite us to the unitive Heart. These early Christian gospels open us directly to the alchemy of transformation. Join us for this 4-day (3-night) retreat as we dive into a dynamic exploration of these texts and experience how they can nourish us in times of change.
Split a piece of wood and there I am,
Pick up the stone and you will find me there.
~Gospel of Thomas

The Luminous Gospels of Thomas, Mary Magdalene and Philip are among the oldest of the early recordings of the sayings of Jesus and may reflect most directly his conversations with his closest students and companions. The quality of the living word shines through them to this day, evident in the way they draw us deeper with each reading. They are a catalyst for the alchemical process in the inner life, illuminating a path of transformation and healing that is at times challenging, surprisingly contemporary, deeply mysterious and always enlightening.
The retreat will be held within a contemplative rhythm of silent prayer, chanting, lectio divina, conscious work and contemplative movement.

As an opportunity to deepen inner life within a Wisdom community of support, people of all spiritual traditions (or none) are welcome. Download the flyer here.

The Reverend Matthew Wright is an Episcopal priest and Wisdom tradition retreat leader who has been working to bring forward the depth and brilliance of this stream within the wider context of inter-spiritual dialogue. His presence and vast storehouse of knowledge express a vibrant and living connection with the tradition, as witnessed in his new blog   A Waking Heart. Matthew and his wife, Yanick, live alongside the brothers of Holy Cross Monastery.
