Deepening our Advent with the
Gospel of Thomas

December 13 , 2014

Lower Hallelujah Farm, Chesterfield, New Hampshire
9:30 am - 4 pm
Lunch Included

Three wise men kneeling before a baby in the manger is the usual fare and wonderful in its own way, but some may be looking for something deeper. If you are intrigued by the Gospel of Thomas (with or without any previous familiarity), and if you would like to make your experience of Advent more meaningful, this retreat may be just the thing. Utilizing spiritual practices to open the unitive vision of the Gospel of Thomas, we will find new depths 0f this season of incarnation.

For more times than we could count, most of us have set intentions early in Advent to prepare for a meaningful Christmas—only to have those plans dashed in the crush of the season’s activities and expectations. But maybe the trajectories themselves we have set have been aimed too low to lift us out of the gravitational pull of the tinseled surface of what we have been used to. Perhaps with the transformational perspective of the Gospel of Thomas we can open our eyes and our hearts to something brand new.

With a little help from some silence and some chant, we will allow the Gospel of Thomas to open up Advent for us.

“Heart - Centered Living”

November 6 - November 9, 2014
Hallelujah Farm Retreat Center (Lower Farm Center)
Chesterfield, New Hampshire

This Wisdom School will be led by the Rev. William Redfield and Sister Lois Barton who are both advanced Wisdom students of Cynthia Bourgeault. They will be joined by Deborah Welsh who is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist and Board Certified in Dance/Movement and Body/Breath Sensing and Awareness. Taking the Christian faith beyond the outer level of intellectual beliefs, Wisdom schools lead students into the inner world of spiritual practice. The goal of these schools, then, is transformation from the inside out. Using methods of practice and immersing participants in a Benedictine rhythm of living, Wisdom schools are designed to set us on a path of awakening that helps us to align ourselves with the deepest purpose in life. Much like a missing “owner’s manual” of Christianity, Wisdom schools bring us to direct experiential and visionary knowledge, mediated by the “eye of the heart.”

Participants are welcome to arrive Thursday afternoon.
Our program will begin with a 6 pm dinner and conclude after lunch on Sunday.

Fanning the Flames… Filling your well…

Spring Retreat
 for Clergy Couples
at Hallelujah Farm

Friday May 2- Saturday May 3, 2014

Ministry is both a joy and a challenge – energizing and draining. Often the ones who bear the brunt of our “ups and downs” are our spouses – whether they are intentionally in ministry themselves, or by virtue of being married to a minister!

Imagine taking time just for your relationship… time to snuggle by the woodstove, soak in a hot tub, or walk down a country lane.
Imagine being led in some devotions, conversations and silent reflections that bring you closer to one another as lovers and friends…
Imagine sharing the company of a few other couples who understand, because they too live a life called by God.

What a great gift for your partner in life!
